PRESCRIBING CHANGES INTRODUCED
Following a letter from the Department of Health, with effect from Monday 12th December 2016 this practice will no longer be prescribing medication used in the treatment of minor self-limiting illnesses or medicines with limited evidence of efficacy.
Many treatments are available FREE OF CHARGE through the MINOR AILMENTS SCHEME (please ask your pharmacist) or can be purchased at low cost without the need for a GP appointment or prescription.
Examples of minor self-limiting illnesses:
Coughs and colds
Minor aches and pains
Hayfever and allergies
Mild heartburn and indigestion
Headache and migraine
Fungal nail infections
